I deliberately skipped Marrakech because shopping, eating and roaming on repeat isn't my style. You get the same experience in Fez without the tourist crowds. From the bustling souks and aromatic spice markets to the intricate mosaics of centuries-old palaces, this itinerary will allow you to experience Moroccan culture in a short span of time.
Morocco Itinerary 7 Days: Your Complete One-Week Travel Guide
When planning your week-long journey through Morocco's Cities, it's crucial to allocate your time wisely to make the most of your experience. Here is a suggested breakdown by city: Casablanca: 1 day
Chefchaouen: 2 days

FLIGHTS + VISA
We flew Qatar Airways via Doha both ways. The easiest connection is often with Royal Air Marroc (they have mixed reviews, but we have flown with them and didn't have any issues).
Visa is easy to do online and available for many citizens around the world, including Indian passport holders and UAE residents.
LANGUAGE
French is widely spoken due to Morocco's colonial history and serves as a second language in business, education, and signage. In tourist-heavy areas, English is becoming more common, and Spanish is spoken in the northern parts due to the proximity to Spain.
BEST TIME TO VISIT
Morocco is a year-round destination, but the best time to visit depends on the type of experience you seek. I highly recommend spring and fall for the most pleasant weather to explore by foot.
CURRENCY
The official currency of Morocco is the Moroccan Dirham (MAD). ATMs are widely available in cities and towns, and international cards are generally accepted. However, small shops, street vendors, and local markets often deal only in cash. Tipping is customary in Morocco!

7-Day Morocco Itinerary
Day 1 – Casablanca
Hassan II Mosque – Start your day with a visit to this architectural masterpiece, one of the largest mosques in the world. Built partly over the Atlantic Ocean, its intricate tilework, grand minaret, and sea-view prayer hall make it a breathtaking symbol of Moroccan craftsmanship and faith.
United Nations Square – The cultural crossroads of Casablanca, this bustling plaza marks the transition between the French colonial Ville Nouvelle and the historic Old Medina. It’s a great spot to observe everyday life and catch a glimpse of the city’s layered identity.
Casablanca Medina – While smaller than those in Fez or Marrakech, the medina here offers an authentic peek into the city’s past. Wander its narrow lanes to discover traditional vendors, crumbling colonial facades, and remnants of Anfa, the ancient Roman port that gave Casablanca its roots.
Ville Nouvelle – Designed during the French Protectorate, this district is Casablanca’s modern heartbeat. Tree-lined boulevards, elegant art deco buildings, stylish boutiques, and European-style cafés paint a portrait of the city’s cosmopolitan side. Don’t miss the chance to sip mint tea while watching the city’s youthful, creative energy unfold.

CHEFCHAOUEN
Imagine walking around and everything is painted blue – like, every single wall, every door, even some of the stairs! It's a whole spectrum of blue, from that soft baby blue to this deep, dreamy indigo. It's like you stepped into a fairytale, seriously.
Wandering through the maze of alleys is the absolute vibe. You're surrounded by the smell of spices, like cinnamon and cumin, and every corner is a postcard waiting to happen. You'll be snapping pics non-stop – trust me.
And don't even get me started on the souvenirs! Even if you're not usually a shopper, you'll find yourself tempted by all the cool trinkets – handmade jewelry, colorful rugs, these amazing printed bags. I went totally photo crazy, no lie. The colors and textures are insane. Like, seriously, Chefchaouen was the absolute highlight of my whole trip to Morocco. You have got to see it for yourself!

AKCHOUR WATERFALLS
True to style, our trip just wasn’t about the popular cities. An hour from Chefchaouen, tucked away in the heart of the Rif Mountains, Akchour Waterfalls is a paradise that feels like a well-kept secret. The simple hike up is a short 2-3 hour journey through green valleys, crossing over crystal-clear streams, surrounded by the scent of pine. As you trek, you will find small pools until you reach the bigger one at the end. If you’re looking to escape the tourist trail without venturing too far, Akchour is the spot
FEZ
One of the oldest cities in Morocco, it dates back to the 9th century and has ancient walled district compromised of thousands of colorful winding alleys filled with life!
